Bedaux: Capitalist Extraordinaire

February 11th, 2012 § Leave a Comment

A fascinating, true tale of a young French hustler who found his way into the American capitalist market by way of measuring the human energy of a work force. He then stumbled into the international political world (circa World War II and Hitler), partied in ways only the filthy rich could, kept mistresses galore, and went exploring like an ego maniacal fool. His brazen life finally ended with his suicide.

Thankfully his expeditions were captured in news reels and on film that he procured himself. His film canisters were lost but then turned up in a basement in Paris. That footage is the foundation for this documentary. Amazing.

I found it on Netflix. It’s very timely in this Occupy Wall Street era of ours.
