House of all Nations lends an instantly inclusive sentiment to the reader. A place where all are welcome. It is also is a slang term which has now fallen out of use, meaning Bordello. Several Institutions from Chicago to Paris during the early twentieth century and into the prohibition era were named with this humorous euphemism.

In the context of this exhibition, the title infers a wink toward the timeless relationship between the erotic and commerce, a mainstay of the exhibition venue. Jo Wilmot’s paintings are a naughty expression regarding the history of decadence as well as the ribbald nature with which society treats the subject of intimacy and sensuality. Utilizing his background in retail visual merchandising and creative window design for global brands such as Selfridges and L’Occitane, Darren Jones will create a glittering window story that evokes the romance and faded back room glamor of bordello aesthetics.
