My suitcase is packed. It’s a bit insane in there… honking horns, raffle tickets, high heels and a six pack of beer. I could definitely be mistaken for a carny! And you wouldn’t be far from the truth. I’m on my way to Momentum Con.
Saturday night I am stirring it up. We start at 8pm with “Stump a Sex Educator!” It’s a game of sex ed trivia that is beyond ridiculous. Everyone is invited to play… writers, bloggers and educators… I can’t wait to see them flex their big, nerdy brain muscles. Honestly, my goal is to make everyone in the room pee themselves with laughter. Then I’ll be happy.
The prize? A big bad ass BUCKET OF VICE! Smut, sex toys and booze.
Stump a Sex Educator will be followed by 5 games of Dirty Bingo! With more prizes! With each of these games… all you need to know how to do is sit down, laugh and let me guide you through the fun. The peeing thing is optional.

Where oh where have I been? I have had a high tide with gigs this month… it’s been awesome! To catch you up on a few of my exploits…

I had a blast performing for a packed auditorium at Keene State College. The student organizers and entire audience made me feel so loved. Much thanks to Tantus for the tour support and Crystal Delights for the beautiful prizes they gifted upon the students who won my quiz. Yes, I give quizzes about your beautiful body parts!
What else did I do? I was honored once again to be a facilitator for the Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Program. It’s a bad ass program that trains patient advocates so they can work with survivors who present to emergency room after sexual assault or intimate partner violent. I co-hosted the Derek & Romaine Show on Sirius XM. I shot some video for this exciting new site called gasm.org! (My footage is not up yet… but I’ll let you know when it is.) I had stellar audeinces come hear me present at both Shag in Brooklyn and the Museum of Sex in NYC. I did piles of bachelorette parties. (‘Tis the season… every spring… young lasses all over the city call on me to stir up a ruckus for their parties!)

I had a scary mammogram thing happen this month… Mammogram… it sounds like someone should show up to my door dressed like an awesome set of boobs and sing me a song… But no, instead it means pinching my bits in a machine and what not. But I was good and did what I had to do. And I’m ok it turns out. Good thing because these breasts are one source of pride and joy for me! They rule!

Running

I ran along side marines and a couple of ballerinas today. I kid you not. All of us hopping the same lost mitten and piles of dog poo. The marines moving in a massive pack. The ballerinas stopping between laps to do their pirouettes. I was just one little satellite holding strong in my own orbit. These gazelles whipping past me. Long strides. Light bodies. Inspiring.
It was a year and a half ago that I did my first 1/2 marathon. Chronic kidney failure had me in a near state of atrophy. I was not sure my little body would be able to achieve such a thing, but I was compelled to try.
I’d shoot an ice coffee and head into Central Park. My ever patient coaches moved me from zero to 13+ miles in just a few months time. They nipped at me until I developed this awesome form. When I run I still hear their voices. Chest open. Eyes up. The movements of my arms regulate my pace.
They pushed me. I hurt. I blistered. I bled. They believed in me.
I run alone now. I find peace out there. Me, my brain, a rush of endorphins. I’m grateful.

I took a romp through Chelsea today. Stopped in at Printed Matter to fondle handmade books and zines. I then went to see the Vivian Maier photo show. It was beautiful. And much to my surprise found myself enamored by WeeGee, a photographer whose work was also on display. He captured New York City in the 1940s, complete with whores, murders, poverty, clowns, queers and jazz.

My Bedroom

Ok… if I am asking you to share your bedroom with me, then I’ll buck up and share mine with you…
I keep really super soft blankets and clean sheets on my bed. It inspires one to want to roll around naked! It’s fun to watch friends come into my room. They will flop down on the bed and start petting it. It’s cute! I am also adamant about making my bed each day, for the same reason. I like lots of pillows. And art, as you can see. Great article and some nice photos of North Brother Island, an old quarantine zone in the Bronx that has been abandoned. Hospital rooms still somewhat intact. Piles of abandoned books. A theater rots. I have the urge to lace up my boots and go exploring at this very moment. Read more.
