Vanity Vr2 by Jopen

January 16, 2012 § 2 Comments

It’s one in a series of high end, rechargeable toys by Jopen. The Vr2 is a beautiful silicone double-ended vibrator. It is double-ended because you can insert either end and there are two motors, one in each tip of the vibe. The smaller end has a more subtle vibration, while the thicker end has a deeper, thumpier vibration.

I was tickled to find the Vr2 is much stronger than the average rechargeable vibe. Each motor has its own embossed control button. Unlike some toys with inset buttons, these controls are very simple and easy to use. You just push and hold. A light comes on to indicate that it’s on. The longer you hold the button, the stronger the vibration becomes. Lift your finger off the button when you reach you speed preference. Push it once more to turn it off. You can turn both motors on at once or use just one end. The motors are pretty quiet too.

The exterior is a seamless, velvety smooth silicone, not unlike the feel of the Rosebud. I LOVE the Rosebud, so you know the Vr2’s casing made me happy as well. Because it is silicone, it has no scent, in non-porous (won’t harbor bacteria) and is hypoallergenic.

You can use it vaginally or externally. You have the choice of which end appeals to you most in both size and vibration. Honestly, even though it’s strong for a rechargeable, it is not strong enough to take me over the edge. (But then for clitoral play, I am a Hitachi Magic Wand girl and seek a lot of sensation. It’s not fair to compare a rechargeable toy with a toy that plugs into an electrical socket.) It is however awesome as a warm up toy.

I see other reviews compare it to the Form 6, but I think they are two very different sex toys. The Vr2 has a much more refined exterior and feels better to the touch. But because the Vr2 is very yielding at the center point of the toy, it’s not the best G spot massager. The Form 6, being more ridged, better serves the G spot.

The charger slips into a hole at the center, underside of the toy. You just push the plug into raised circle in the silicone casing. Pull the charger plug out and the hole closes up as the soft silicone seals shut. There is an indicator light that shows it is charging. The light goes out when it’s fully charged. Simple.

The Vr2 is part of the Vanity line by Jopen. It comes with a 1 year warranty that can be extended to 10 years. I doubt people need the warranties much, but to me it’s a sign that a maker stands by their product. I like that.

Specs: Fuchsia, silicone with electronic interior, rechargeable, 6.75”x 1.5”

Clean it: It’s waterproof. You can clean it in the sink, with soap and water. You can also clean it with a solution of 10% bleach, 90% water. Do not boil this toy. It is silicone, but silicone toys with electronic interiors should never be boiled. They say it is safe to submerge in water, but with a toy this pricey, I don’t recommend it. Play in the shower, clean it, splash it but care for it.

Survival Sex

To heck with food and water, I want to ask you… when the apocalypse comes what are going to fuck? We have all seen the footage hurricanes, earthquake and mudslides. Natural disasters are abounding. The government can’t help you. And every good scout knows to BE PREPARED.

Maybe you think I am being dramatic but The Solar Vibrating Bullet is awesome! It packs some power, has multiple speeds and is totally renewable because it’s powered by the sun. Yes, you are having sex with sunshine. How cool is that? It even has a little light in it in case you get lost in the woods.

I Have a Rabbit Habit

December 23, 2011 § 5 Comments

There are many toys on the market today with the rabbit name, but a Japanese company invented the original Rabbit Habit more than a decade ago. The rabbit in their design is a dual action vibrator. It has a shaft that goes inside a woman’s vagina and an extra vibrating branch that curves over her vulva and stimulates her clit at the same time. It is called the rabbit because the clit-tickler is shaped like a little bunny with two firm ears that flicker around the clit when the vibrator is turn on. There are also some loose beads in the shaft that spin and massage the G spot.

It is a well thought out, very creative design and spawned many new and unique sex toy creations. They built this toy in the rabbit shape because in Japan it is illegal to manufacture any product in the shape of a penis. They managed to skirt this law by making what would be the shaft of the penis look like a little man with a helmet of hair to emulate the head of the penis and the external vibrating piece in the shape of a bunny.

Admittedly it is an odd looking toy, but so effective that no one cares!

In fact, the toy became so popular that other toy companies around the world started creating all sorts of Rabbit Habit knock-offs and adding animal shapes like monkeys and dolphins to many of their other products. And you thought it was just that women had a kinky attraction to rabbits? Nope. We just have a kinky attraction to quality design!

The design was recently upgraded to include attached, non-jamming beads.

Specs: 100% Elastomer, no latex, no phthalates. Use with silicone or water based lubes. Separate sliding, high to low controllers for shaft and rabbit. Light purple, with glitter! 3 – AAA batteries, not included. As with all slide control toys, remove batteries in between use for longer life span.

Clean it: Keep battery unit and controllers dry. Wipe them down with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball as needed. Clean the shaft and rabbit with a warm wet cloth and mild soap and water.

Another rabbit that is worth your interest is the one I am holding in this photo. It’s also made in Japan and is called Rabbit Pearl. It’s the same toy as the Rabbit Habit but pink and the controls are connected via a wire. For some people this is easier to hold and use. Sex toys with wires tend to be more fragile, much like head phone wires. So treat them with care.

I have yet to try it, but I am excited about the Jimmy Jane Iconic Rabbit as well.

But be careful of rabbit style knock offs. They often are not made with the same quality. Sometimes they don’t have all the movement, lack quality motors and are not designed with such care and with the female anatomy in mind. The worst is when they are made of inferior plastics that are sticky or smell toxic. Always go for quality when it comes to a dual action toy of this nature.

Jimmy Jane’s Form 6

December 19, 2011 § 8 Comments

A gift from my good friends at Babeland, the Form 6 is to me an interesting piece of sex technology. It is a winner of a couple of design awards, well marketed and beautifully packaged. (It’s like opening up a new iPad!)

The Form 6 can be used externally or internally. The exterior of the toy is primarily a very firm body-safe silicone. The claim is that both ends of the vibe are insertable. One end is girthy, while the other has a nice g-spot reaching curve. (Measuring 7″ x 1.75″ at widest point.)

Both tips have their own vibration unit and control button. The very quiet motors have multiple levels and patterns of vibration to choose from. The controls are on the top of the toy and illuminate as you move through the functions. Like most controls that are inlaid under the silicone exterior, they take a bit of force to as you push through the settings and to turn it off.

Another nod to nice design is in the rechargeable, magnetic dock that is also the storage case. I love a toy that is easy to recharge and easy to store. It means it will stay in rotation.(Travel tip, all rechargeable electronics should go in your carry-on luggage to avoid causing a scene by having them accidentally turn on in your check luggage.)

I’m not crazy about the band around the narrower end. Seams are always hard to clean. But the Form 6 is waterproof and can be immersed in water. That’s awesome. It means you can clean it with soap and water and you can play with it in the bath or shower.

But here’s the rub… actually… the rubs… If you are inserting the larger end, the controls are inside your vagina. My pussy is notoriously strong and even I can’t use the controls in that situation. And for me it is far too subtle in its vibrations, even on the highest speed. That does not mean it would not work you or your lover… but my body requires more. None the less, I am curious to try more Jimmy Jane designs. They are a very interesting manufacturer to me.

At this price ($185), the very best way to know if this toy is for you is to go to a shop where you can hold it in your hands. Isn’t the kind of toy you should buy sight unseen. (Feel unfelt?)
